    Precision not only left sidebar has "ghost" widget by default but alsoe right sidebar has hard-coded "category" ans "archives". Impossible to remove them by WP administration widgets. The only way to remove them finally is to go in the files sidebar-1.php and sidebar-2php and erase the code. Or remove them by adding widgets other them. But if some of us don't want to put widgets over them ? It would be fine to let the sidebar blank without the items. search,calendar,archives,categories and let the user put them by widget according his choice.
